Assets with transactions recorded against them cannot be deleted.
If you have recorded income, corporate actions, trust distributions, or any other type of transaction relating to the asset you wish to delete, you will need to locate the relevant journal entries and delete them before proceeding with asset deletion.
To delete an asset, select the ASSETS tab.
Click the EDIT ASSETS button.
Mclowd displays the Assets list. Entities are grouped according to type. Scroll the list to find the asset you wish to delete.
Click the Edit button above the Asset Name.
Mclowd displays the Asset Details.
The DELETE ASSET button is located at bottom right of the window. Click DELETE ASSET.
Mclowd asks you to confirm your desire to delete this asset.
NOTE: Mclowd may display a warning message alerting you that if you proceed, all holdings of this asset will be deleted. Click OK to continue.
The Asset screen displays again, with the asset now deleted.
If you should choose an asset that has transactions against it…
… the DELETE ASSET button will be greyed out.
You will need to locate the journal entries relating to that asset and reverse them.
If you select a bank account from the asset list, there will be no DELETE ASSET button available.
However, you can block further postings to ensure that no transactions can be posted against this account in future.
